3rd assignment: Redesign Book Cover or Individual Project

Artwork - For this final assignment, I would like you to redesign a book cover. Select an existing hard-bound book, paperback or textbook and redesign the front cover for a trade-sized paperback. What is the essential message or key aspect of this book? Communicate this message through the new cover's design, image and font selection. I (strongly) recommend selecting a single, effective image. To me, a single large image has greater impact that many small images. You will need to keep the existing title, author's name and other information on the book's cover.

The book will now be a trade-sized paperback: 5-1/4 x 8-1/4". When you create a new image (File>New), select a custom image size 5.25" width x 8.25" height x resolution of 150 pixels/inch (to 300 pixels/inch). Work in the RGB color mode. This will give you a file size of 2.79M (the resolution of 300ppi will create an 11.2M file size).

Alternatively, you can work on a self-defined, individual project. You will first need to discuss this project with me.
