- 3.00 Augustana GPA
- 3.25 Biology GPA
- Declared major or minor in Biology
- A minimum of 9 credit hours in the biological sciences
membership requirements.
- Members are asked to accrue 12 points per academic year, based on the following:
- Attend a chapter, committee, or executive board meeting – 1 point
- Participate in a fundraiser or chapter event – 2 points
- Serve as a committee chair (1 semester) – 3 points
- Serve on the executive board (1 year) – 3 points
- Present research at a district convention – 2 points
- Present research at a national convention – 2 points
chapter awards.
- Chapter awards will be given out once per academic year (at the end of spring term) in the following categories:
- Outstanding Chapter Involvement
- In recognition of their contributions to the chapter, an award will be given to members who have accrued more than 18 points in the academic year. Executive board members and committee chairs are not eligible for this award.
- Academic Achievement
- Awarded to the member with the highest biology grade point average at the end of the academic year.
- Biological Research
- Awarded to members who have displayed an interest in scientific exploration, and who have represented the Gamma Sigma Chapter by presenting their research at a district or national convention.
