Jenny Lind ensemble plans concerts

Augustana's Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble will perform "Anchored & Unbound: Songs of Faith, Hope & Freedom" at three concerts this year.

Concert locations and dates are:

Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 714 East Capitol Ave., Springfield.

Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 114 East Main St., Geneseo, Ill.

Feb. 4 at 4 p.m. in Centennial Hall on campus.

The group is a select women's ensemble for singers who wish to develop advanced choral skills. The group is conducted by Michael Zemek, with accompanist Gail Baldwin.

The ensemble is named after Jenny Lind (1820-1887), a Swedish opera singer often known as the "Swedish Nightingale."
