Kim Sawyer ranked sixth in the Central Region by ITA

Junior Kim Sawyer, Augustana's number one singles player, is sixth in the Central Region according to the latest Intercollegaite Tennis Association rankings.

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Augustana junior Kim Sawyer (Batavia HS, Batavia, Ill.) is currently the sixth-ranked singles player in the NCAA Division III Central Region according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Sawyer, who recently broke the school record for career singles victories, sports a 21-3 mark this season as the Vikings' number one singles player.

  On Sunday, March 24, Sawyer defeated Heather Matejka of St. Ambrose to become the winningest singles player in Augustana history with 77 victories. She already holds the top two single-season win totals in school history with 29 as a freshman and 27 as a sophomore. Her .875 winning percentage this year is currently tied for fifth-best all-time and her current career mark of .819 is the highest in school history.  

Sawyer, the 2012-13 CCIW number one singles champion, also has a 51-34 career doubles record and ranks seventh all-time in total wins at Augustana with 128.
