Thunderstorms force soccer postponement
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - With possibly severe thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon and evening, the women's and men's soccer matches between Augustana and Illinois Wesleyan, originally scheduled for Saturday, October 13 at Thorson-Lucken Field, have been moved to Sunday, October 14.
The women's contest, at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, will feature two of the three teams (along with Wheaton) currently tied for the CCIW lead at 3-0. Coach Scott Mejia's Vikings are 10-3 overall, while the Titans come in with a 6-6 overall mark.
Coach Brenton Joseph's men are currently 6-5-2 overall and tied with Wheaton for second in the conference with a 2-0-1 ledger. Illinois Wesleyan, which comes in with sole ownership of the CCIW lead, is 10-2 overall and 3-0 in the league. That match is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
