ProFair connects students with employers
September 13, 2011
It’s not just politicians who are talking about jobs. Quad-City college students are talking about jobs as they prepare for ProFair — an event that will connect students with potential employers, internships and graduate schools.
On Tuesday, Sept. 20, ProFair will be held from noon-4 p.m. at the PepsiCo Recreation Center, 1025 30th St., on the campus of the Augustana College. Co-hosted by Augustana College and St. Ambrose University, the annual event provides networking and personal contacts to help students get their careers started.
Among the 70 organizations attending are John Deere, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Deloitte, Mediacom, State Farm Insurance and Wells Fargo Bank.
“Students will benefit from the opportunity to explore career opportunities, network with professionals in their fields of interest and sharpen their interview skills,” said Johnna Adam, director of employer relations and internships at Augustana.
Employers and students cans find more information at http://www.gotoprofair.org/, including a complete list of participating organizations and how to register a company for the event.
ProFair, which is open only to students and alumni, is one of two major career-networking opportunities that Augustana and St. Ambrose co-host each year.
