2009 Season - Women's track & field team wins 18 of 20 events as Augustana wins Viking Olympics

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Led by the NCAA Division III national qualifying performance by Marissa Banks (Ames HS, Ames, Iowa) in the discus, Augustana completely dominated the Viking Olympics on Monday, March 30 at Paul Olsen Track. Originally scheduled for Saturday, March 28, the meet was postponed until Monday due to cold and wet weather. The switch certainly didn’t affect head coach Fred Whiteside’s team as the Vikings rolled to an easy team victory. Augustana scored 403 points with St. Ambrose a distant second at 191.
