In addition to my role as teacher, I also try to pursue the role of learner by writing and doing research. My most recent writing projects are Human Anatomy (9th edition) by Martini, Tallitsch and Nath, published by Pearson, and Histology: An Identification Manual by Tallitsch and Guastaferri. Prior to working on these two texts I served as a coauthor with Gerard Tortora on five editions of an Anatomy and Physiology laboratory manual, published by Prentice Hall.
In addition to my textbook writing I am also involved in writing and publishing PBL problems that I utilize in my classes here at Augustana. Currently approximately 20 of my problems have been published by the PBL Clearinghouse and a few more are in various stages of editorial review.
