Education courses generally have 24 students or fewer per class. Our small classes allow for an interactive environment that provides students the opportunity to gain confidence through meaningful, extensive classroom discussion and collaborative learning with faculty and students. It is our goal to provide students with the right amount of academic challenge to support their abilities and skills.

Our facilities include:

Carlsson Evald Hall

The newly renovated Carlsson Evald Hall, where the Education Department occupies the entire second floor. The $6.7-million project completed in August 2008 converted the historic 1928 building from a residence hall to a state-of-the-art academic building. The building design, along with the smart classrooms and other technology resources, continue to enhance the Education program and the learning for our students.

Teacher Education Resource Center, where many teacher resources and curricular materials are kept for student use. These materials assist in lesson planning and help students to understand the curriculum used in our local schools. The resource center is provided thanks to the generous support of the McWethy Foundation.
An open, education lounge, where students can connect and explore ideas. The lounge is provided thanks to the generous support of the Doris and Victor Day Foundation.
