Mr Campbell's Kidney

The ELISA (Enzyme Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay) assay was developed in 1971. It is easily the most popular laboratory test in the work today - millions of these assays are performed in labs worldwide each year (you'll see why later in the experiment).

Mr Campbell needs your help:

Mr Campbell suffers from chronic renal failure. A kidney with a good tissue match to Mr Campbell has just become available for transplantation. However, before the transplant, a blood test reveals that the kidney donor has mononucleosis (a relatively benign increase in the number of monocytes in the blood). Before proceeding with the transplant, Mr Campbell's surgeon has ordered serological tests for Epstein-Barr Virus (Result - negative) and cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection.
You will perform the assay for CMV antibodies.

Quick, the results are needed urgently before the transplant can proceed
