The Learning Commons is located on the fourth floor of The Gerber Center for Student Life. It's a centralized location for all academic support needs. Whether you need help editing your research paper, searching for a Spanish tutor, improving your study skills, or developing English language skills, we're here to help!
The Learning Commons includes:
• The Reading/Writing Center for advice on written work and help with course readings
• Tutoring services for help with departmental course content
• Study skills workshops and one-on-one coaching for time management, stress management, test-taking success, and more
• Support for ESL students and non-native speakers of English
• Academic accommodations for students with disabilities or learning differences

Nov. 22 (Tue, 4:30-5:15pm): "There's No 'I' in Teamwork." Location: Olin 105. Are group projects giving you trouble? Working with people who have different strengths, expectations, personalities, and schedules can increase the stress of an already important project. Join the Learning Commons and CORE for some helpful tips on how to recognize everyone's strengths and use them to benefit the entire group.
Dec. 1 (Thu, 6:00-7:00pm): "You're Not Weird! It's Just Your Personality." Location: Olin 105. Come learn some helpful tips on how to apply your personal strengths and values in achieving future goals. Presented by Subject Tutor Leaders.
Dec. 4 (Sun, 7:00-7:45pm): "Summarizing, Paraphrasing, and Quoting." Location: Andreen basement. Presented by Reading/Writing Center tutors.

Oct. 6: "You Only Learn Once... So Go To Class," 6-7 p.m. in Olin 109. Classroom strategies on note-taking, how to stay awake and be interested in courses that may seem boring, and other tips to ace your classes.

Sept. 27: "Procrastination: Because 'Due Tomorrow' Doesn’t Mean 'Do Tomorrow.'” This workshop will explore the science behind procrastination and simple tips and strategies to manage time.
Oct. 11: "Homesickness." The Learning Commons and Counseling Services will provide tips and strategies to manage homesickness.
