Faculty News

Todd Cleveland (History) recently presented a paper entitled "Following the Ball: African Soccer Players, Labor Strategies and Emigration across the Portuguese Empire, 1949-75," and also participated on a roundtable entitled "The Global Mobility of African Athletes: Gender, Identity and Politics" at the annual meeting of the African Studies Association (ASA) in Baltimore, Maryland.

During week 2, Kirsten Day (Classics) attended the Film & History conference in Madison, Wisconsin, where she presented a paper entitled "The Economics of Gender: Sex as Capital in RomeSeason 2." She also acted as chair of a panel entitled "Old Money I: Economy and Social Criticism: Gender, Sex, Identity."

On November 16, Kimberly Murphy (Biology) presented "Preparing for massively-parallel undergraduate phenotyping: Myxococcus xanthus as a model system" at the American Society for Microbiology Northwest Conference in Seattle.
