You know how it is: At the beginning of each term you optimistically block off "1 hour each day" for writing that book-article-review-paper that you've been working on forever. And each term, that hour gets eaten up with student meetings, departmental chatter, and annoying administrative initiatives.
Well, here's some time and a place to get that writing done: This year, Academic Affairs will sponsor three day-long writing retreats to take place in the new classroom/computer lab (4th floor) in the Center for Student Life. There will be coffee, camaraderie, lunch (paid for by us) and lots and lots of productive writing. I promise.
The dates for the 2013-14 writing retreats are:
Each retreat will take place from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Enrollment is limited. To confirm your spot, please email MaryKoski@augustana.edu
The arrangement is simple: we will provide a friendly, supportive, and coffee-enhanced environment in which faculty can put in a good day of writing on their projects. Participants will be able to think, organize and write for a three-hour stretch in the morning; then take a one-hour break to have lunch, meet one another, and then get back to writing for another three-hour stretch in the afternoon.
If you are interested, please reserve a spot today and mark your calendar!
