This Week's Message

On behalf of the Senate Steering Committee I write to invite you to a Faculy Forum on Thursday, September 15th at 11:30 in Science 102.

At that time information regarding Chapter 10 of the revised Faculty Handbook will be discussed. Chapter 10 addresses policies that apply to all college employees including: CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS, and POLICY ON HARASSMENT AND DISCRIMINATION.

Please review Chapter 10 and Chapters 1-9. Chapters 1-9 are on Moodle... under Departments and other groups --> Faculty. Chapter 10 can be read HERE and is available in the Senate 2011-12 folder on Google Docs.

In conjunction with the Dean's Office we are also helping to offer the Friday Conversation this week, September 16th. The intent of that gathering is also to provide an opportunity to discuss the proposed Faculty Handbook revisions.

Please plan on attending either one of the events.

A Faculty Meeting will been called by President Bahls before the end of September with the agenda item being a vote on the Faculty Handbook revisions.

Questions? Feel free to send them to me.

Randy Hengst
Chair, 2011-2012 Faculty Senate
