Service-Learning & Civic Engagement Teach-in

Celebrate the end of finals with food, drinks (beer, wine, etc.) and conversation. Come hear and share ideas of implementing service-learning and civic engagement in our campus curriculum.
These are powerful forms of pedagogy which have demonstrated rich learning outcomes with profound effects on students developing into citizen leaders.

Students at any level of Swedish from 101 up can study a year of Swedish in this 6 week program in Grebbestad.
6:00 PM in DENKMANN 215
Students who have completed French 103 or higher can take 6 credits at the U. of Bourgogne in Dijon.
6:00 PM in OLIN AUDITORIUM
This year we introduce a 5 week intensive program for students who have completed Spanish 301 or higher. We still have our 10-week Spanish program for students at any level of Spanish from 101 up.
11:30 AM in EVALD 17 & 18
Six week internships for soph/junior BUSN, ECON, ACCT majors in London during the summer or 7 week internships as part of an LC for any major during the winter.
7:00 PM in HANSON SCIENCE 102
Medical Service Learning program during Spring Break (2012). Students work alongside Doctors in the field throughout Nicaragua.
5:00 PM in CEC CLASSROOM-SORENSEN
Exchange program for students in any major at the U. of Botswana. Spend a Fall Term in Africa while a U of B student studies here at Augie.
6:00 PM in CEC CLASSROOM-SORENSEN
Exchange program for students in any major in Hong Kong. Great for Asian Studies, BUSN, ECON, etc.
7:00 PM in EVALD 18
3 credit course (PSYCH) on Childhood in the Developing World during Winter Term followed by a spring break trip to Guatemala.
4:00 PM in OLIN 333
Spring Term course in Classics with Dr. Day followed by a 2 week early summer. Focused tour of Greece.
4:30 PM in OLIN AUDITORIUM
Fall Term in London, with a week in Scotland. Courses offered by Drs. Kivisto and Goebel as well as British faculty in London.
7:00 PM in OLIN 305
A two-course LC (PHIL & HIST) in the Spring of 2012 followed by an early Summer 3 week stay in Berlin. PP and PH credit as well as the LC.
7:00 PM in BERGENDOFF 113
Spring Term in Vienna. Courses in Music, Chemistry and History. An LC and various LP's available.
Winter Term with courses on campus in December and travel to Vietnam in Jan & Feb. Courses in English, Business and Psychology.

Winter term with courses on campus in December and travel to Brazil in Jan & Feb. Courses in Poli Sci, Art, History and World Lit.
Coffee & Conversation
Join your colleagues again on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the new CEC space on the first floor in Sorensen for weekly Coffee and Conversations. Talk to your colleagues. Enjoy a hot cup of Starbucks coffee ($1.50 for a 12 oz. cup of coffee, FREE for the first 10 people). Indulge in a sweet treat. Stop by as you are able. We look forward to seeing you Wednesday!
