Volume 8, Issue 26 - April 19, 2010

Greetings from the Center for Teaching & Learning.

Week 7 will be relatively quiet, activity-wise, for ACTL so I thought I'd take the opportunity in this week's newsletter to talk about the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) here at Augie.

With the help and support of Academic Affairs, we have now held two workshops, Beginning a SoTL Project, and Designing and Implementing a SoTL Project. A description of each is available on the ACTL moodle site. In addition to the resources available on the moodle site there are two books in the Teaching Collection on the second floor of the Tredway Library:

Both books provide context and theory as well as practical advice and concrete examples from a variety of disciplines.

The plan for next year is to hold a series of fora throughout the year, much like the Faculty Research Forum model, to support SoTL projects that people will be working on. If you are interested, I hope you'll join us. If you would like more support, resources, or would just like to chat about a SoTL project you've been thinking about, please get in touch!

In the meantime, have a productive week 7.
